Terms of use
Last updated 27 September 2026
By installing or using Grabster you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Grabster is provided by Daria Cheremina, trading as Grabster (eenmanszaak), Leliestraat 5, 3551 AR Utrecht, the Netherlands ("we"), KvK number 96391146. Contact: [email protected]. "The service" means the online services we run for the app.
2. Your licence
You may use Grabster on Macs you own or control, under a personal, non-transferable licence. The app is licensed, not sold.
3. What you may not do
- Redistribute or sell the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
- Capture material you have no right to read or store. What you capture is your responsibility.
- Use the service automatically, in bulk, or from anything but an unmodified copy of Grabster.
Open-source components come under their own licences, included in the app.
4. Free month and free tier
For the first 30 days, everything is included, with no payment and no account. After that you are on the free tier:
- everything you have saved stays;
- Review practice stays free;
- 25 new words each calendar month (words added in the free month don't count). Words beyond that are still saved, and wait until the next month or until you subscribe;
- Fill the gap and new practice modes need a subscription.
5. Subscription
A subscription is monthly or yearly and renews automatically until you cancel. The price, in euros with tax included, is shown in the app and at checkout before you pay. It includes every practice mode and lifts the free tier's monthly word limit. It is for normal personal study; we may limit use that is automated or far beyond that.
Keep your license key: you need it after a reinstall or on another Mac. Don't share it.
6. Payment, cancellation and refunds
Subscriptions are sold by Link, LLC (Stripe), which is the
seller and handles payment, tax, receipts, cancellation and refunds under its
own terms. Your statement will show
LINK.COM*. Use Manage subscription in the app, or
link.com, to change or cancel it.
If you cancel, the subscription runs to the end of the paid period, then you move to the free tier. Refunds and your right of withdrawal are handled by Link under its terms and consumer law.
Donations through the website are gifts: they unlock nothing.
7. The lookup service
Definitions, translations and pronunciations are written by an AI model and are sometimes wrong. They are a study aid, not professional translation or advice. We may limit, change or suspend the service, and block an installation that misuses it.
8. Updates and minimum version
Grabster updates itself. We may require a minimum version: a build that is too old may stop getting lookups until you update. Your saved words are unaffected.
9. No warranty
The app and the service are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties. You grant Grabster Screen Recording and Accessibility permission at your own discretion, and can withdraw them in System Settings.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
10. Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the greater of EUR 50 and what you paid for Grabster in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Keep backups: we have no copy of your data.
11. Ending
You can stop using Grabster at any time (cancel any subscription separately). We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms.
12. Law
Dutch law applies. Consumers keep the mandatory protection of the law, and the courts, of the country they live in.
13. Changes
We may update these terms and will tell subscribers about material changes before they apply.
